Ever feel like you wear a lot of hats? "I'm every woman, it's all in meeeee ...." sounded like a good idea. Then reality sets in. You begin to realize that your mother expects you to act one way and your significant other wants a completely different you. You want to be a good parent and you find it conflicting with being a good boss. When being everything to everyone has lost it's luster, what do you do next?
We find ourselves seeking "balance." Madly compartmentalizing our different identities into managed time slots. We notice that we use different words and even change our views to suit the situation. Then the real balancing act begins. Suddenly we are spending time doing more balancing and acting then living.
Only when when we truly see and embrace ourselves as a whole at all times, no matter whom we are with, can we claim our center. When we choose integration as a lifestyle, there is no more keeping track of ourselves. Out only quest is to keep on with our integrity; with who you really are.
Once we begin to bring together various parts of our identity, we'll want to conjoin the different aspects of our life, too. If who we are as a friend, employee, parent, citizen or family member is contradictory, we are at risk of giving our power away. Ever recall a time when you heard that little voice, saying, “Get out of this situation, now!” and yet you stayed put, wishing later that you had listened to your instinct. When integrated on a body, mind and emotions/ spiritual level, our intuition becomes synonymous with our actions, making life a whole lot easier and a lot more fun!
Do you desire physical health and still find yourself eating things that you know will challenge that goal? What challenges do you face in integrating your life? Do the pieces fit? How do you empower yourself when you are in a challenging situation?
Discuss, debate and support matters around wellness as a goal, as a lifestyle and as a movement. Continue the conversation at the Interval Fitness Group on Facebook
